Specialist cover to meet the insurance needs of different kinds of voluntary and community groups or clubs.
Today, almost every church or local authority, as well as others who hire out their facilities, will request proof of valid public liability insurance before they will let you rent out a venue.
Community Shield has been specifically designed for smaller community service, recreational clubs or groups - who regularly meet in churches, church halls or other premises - to protect themselves against claims made for bodily injury or property damage caused to members of the public.
The policy can also include employers’ liability insurance which you’ll need to hold if you employ staff as part of your community group. The policy can cover possessions or any income that might be lost if the buildings or other property you are using are damaged or destroyed.
Community Shield includes
Public and products liability.
Member to member liability.
Accidental loss or damage to equipment or effects.
Loss of money and petty cash.
Option to cover the property and equipment belonging to the group.
Insurance cover for accidents or illness to employees, including authorised volunteers.
The policy will also include liability for products supplied, including food and beverages.
Community Shield is not suitable for groups who wish to insure buildings or who require other additional cover which is available under the Charity Shield policy .
Please note that these details are only a guide and this is a flexible policy that can be tailored to the needs of your individual club or group.
