Experience
Jennie graduated from the University of Southampton with a first in Economics. Her early career was spent within financial services where she worked for a number of leading financial institutions as an investment analyst and fund manager specialising in the UK Equity market. Following a break to focus on her young family, she then embarked upon a governance career with an emphasis on addressing economic, educational and health inequalities within the Yorkshire and Humber region. She was a founding director of Finance Yorkshire (which was formed in 2009 to create jobs in the region through investment in small and medium sized businesses) and a non-executive director of York and Scarborough NHS Foundation Trust for 8 years.
Jennie has successfully chaired the Audit and Risk Committee at York St John University for the last five years and is also currently serving as a lay member of the General Chiropractic Council. In her non-executive roles, she has a particular interest in social justice, corporate governance effectiveness, risk management and investment.
